Review of Anna Dressed In Blood By Kendare Blake

what its about: Cas who is a ghost killer and his mother who is a white which travel from location to location for Cas to kill evil/ dark spirits who have been killing humans. After Cas receives a tip off about Anna Dressed in blood his mother and him move to Canada to find and kill her. Once they have arrived Cas decides to find out more information about Anna and who better to ask but the most popular girl in his new school Carmel. Carmel invites him to the annual back to school party and it is there she tells him all she knows about Anna and who she is meant to have died. We then get to meet Mike who is Carmel’s jealous ex boyfriend and his two friends’ Will and Chase. They end up going to the house and Cas ends up locked in, now the rumor is that anyone who enters Anna’s house doesn't leave it alive. I am not going to spoil it but a lot of stuff goes down and Cas gets out a live and now has to find out how Anna is so strong and powerful realizing he can’t do this a lone he needs to use the help of Carmel the popular girl and Thomas the an awkward nerd type of boy who can read minds.

When I first started reading the book I loved how you jumped straight into the action which I thought was a brilliant idea to engage the reader as in most books you have to read a few chapters before the action happens. My only problem was I couldn't warm up the main character at the start he just annoyed me so much as I thought he had no respect for his mother and was completely self centered however as I went on I started to warm up to him and eventually fell in love with him and all the other characters especially Anna now I can’t say why without spoiling anything but she is simply an amazing character.

The character development and description in this book is amazing and it really helps paint a picture of them in your head. I loved the writing style in this book and all the unexpected twists as it keeps the reader guessing, I love this book and I will admit that it has scared me more than any horror film are book ever has.
I gave this book five out of five stars because of all the reasons that are stated above and I would recommend it to anyone who likes these type of books and I cannot wait to buy and read the second when it comes out where I live.

Please leave a comment with your opinions and thoughts on the book, let me know if you have read it or want to read it and thanks for reading my review have a nice day J
